Whenever Photographer Justin Bettman meets a homeless man on the streets of California, he offers him a bagel in exchange of a story. Sounds interesting, right?

But when I'll tell you the story behind his Bagel Project, you'll be amazed. Not only Justin hears their story and offers them a bagel but he also documents their story with a photograph. According to Justin, "In major urban areas like LA, we tend to get used to the people ho sit on the curbs, or push around broken shopping carts. The people that talk to themselves because no one else will listen. The homeless in our cities are often forgotten, as after a while the become a part of the city themselves; blending in like streetlights and bus stops, or any of the other things we walk by hundreds of times a day."

"I've been continually surprised by the fact that these people are content with their lives; if anything, they are happier to have a friend to talk to rather than the food provided", Justin goes on. Justin's images are not only amazing but expressive as well. If you want to know the touching stories behind each photograph, then make sure to visit Justin's blog. The main reason behind this project is to give a voice to the voiceless.

Here are some of our favorite photographs from this project. Have a look:

We hope that Justin succeeds in his mission!
