50 years ago, John Peddie, founder of LEGO packed his suitcase with LEGO samples and headed to Australia from England with the hope that the people down under will recognize the potential behind his idea. In 1962 he changed eight flights to reach there and started knocking toy stores' doors. Half century later, LEGO is the number one 1 toy brick in Australia and to celebrate this occasion, Syndey is witnessing an exciting LEGO Festival of Play.

"When we first asked ourselves how we should mark this milestone the answer seemed obvious. Why don’t we create a festival – we could call it the LEGO Festival of Play. " shares the website, further adding, "We think there is no limit to the imagination and creativity that LEGO bricks inspire and we aim to tap into your LEGO memories and create many new experiences from now until December." In this nine-month festival LEGO lovers can look forward to some exciting activities, both online and offline.
