There are many artists in the world who take pride in portraying their art on unique canvases, for some it could be a small grain of rice, while for some it could be millions of Lego blocks; we've featured some truly talented artists who create illustrations our of discarded cassestte tapes or convert a simple pencil tip into a masterpiece.

Mark Evans is an equally talented and one-of-a-kind artist whose canvas is 'leather' and couple of knives and scalpels are his 'paintbrushes'. His leather etchings are so impressively detailed that by simply looking at it anyone can be fooled to think of them technologically created artwork.

Thanks to his Grandparents that Mark discovered this unique talent within him. While living in mountains of north Wales Mark's grandfather gifted him a penknife which he used for carving on trees and wooden pieces. But he was yet to discover the leather art, until the day when a ruined leather jacket with some stain spots was handed to him. In attempt to clean it up he used his art materials and palette knife but ended up scratching it too hard. "I went from thinking the jacket was ruined to seeing endless opportunities" he says, and after experimenting with it he created Jimi Hendrix on the back of the jacket.

"I then spent the next few years locked away in my studio living as part artist and part mad scientist - trying to perfect the technique I'd discovered." he explains further.
